TRAILER: Evil Dead

This is one of those remakes that's had the fanboys' panties in a bunch for awhile now. My two cents? Yes, I'm a HUGE fan of Bruce Campbell and though the concept behind the original EVIL DEAD is quite intriguing, I'm not opposed to a remake. Horror is a genre that fits the remake scenario simply because these horror icons have been around for years and the original films (awesome as they may be) are dated. Now am I saying they need to be remade? Hell no, but at least I understand why the idea is there (other than money). Of the many hits and misses, this one looks like it has the potential to not only hit, but beat the living bejesus out of audiences everywhere.

TRAILER: Iron Man 3

Tony Stark may very well have been the glue holding the Avengers together, but damn if he's not down on his luck here. If you thought dying a slow death by radiation poisoning was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet. Mandarin looks and feels like the vicious villain we've been waiting for, a perfect match for Iron Man. I can't wait to see more.

GAME TRAILER: Halo 4

I'm not a fan of HALO (or FPS at all for that matter), but even I can't deny the sheer level of excellence the advertising team puts into these games. There was one a couple years back with two kids starring up at the stars talking about what they wanted to be when they grow up (it blew me away) and this one is on the same level. It almost makes me want to play the games. Almost.

TRAILER: Jack Reacher

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Lee Child (author of the Jack Reacher novels) this past summer in New York and he's a calm, level headed guy with many a story to tell. He was pleased with Tom Cruise's portrayal of Reacher and I have to say I'm on the same bandwagon. This looks and feels like 24 with Cruise instead of Sutherland, lets hope it plays out that way too.

TRAILER: Carrie

When it comes to Stephen King adaptions Hollywood tends to "miss" more than they "hit". I've never had the urge to read CARRIE (or watch the original film), but Chloe Grace Moretz is a solid little actress and if she could sell the LET ME IN remake, I have faith she can sell this as well.

TRAILER: Movie 43

I don't know where this came from, who thought it up, or how in God's name they got some many big names to participate but I'm loving every second of it. A comedy, yes, but most likely an hour and a half of improved jokes from people who are always funny, accidentally funny and hope they're funny. Either way, I'm sure it'll generate some big laughs. I'm in.

TRAILER: The Lone Ranger

The Lone Ranger. Of all the characters and concepts of old, this would be one I never thought would see the light of day. Or needed to. That said, I'm a fan of Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore Verbinski as a combo so this has my attention on a minimal level. It may be amusing, but most likely a dud. On a personal note, I never got the relevance behind such a small mask. It always reminded me of the "Clark Kent is Superman with glasses" scenario. I guess people just couldn't see very well back then. Must have been all that dust and wind.
